The project and its requirements

The 2016 earthquake damaged State Highway 1 and cut off the Kaikoura area. Repairs had to be rapid and resistant to the marine environment.

How the reinforcement was used

The precast blocks were reinforced with MateenBar™. Anchoring was supplemented with MateenDowel™ dowels and GFRP bolts.
